INDICATIONS: Adjunct to diet in patients with diabetes mellitus, prevention of type 2 diabetes
CONTRA INDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity. Children less than 18 yrs. Old. Severe renal impairment. Pregnancy and lactation.
PRECAUTIONS: Monitor liver enzyme during the first 6-12 months of treatment
SIDE EFFECTS: Flatulence, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea. Rarely, rash, urticaria, edema, hepatitis, liver damage.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Sucrose and food containing sucrose. Sulphonylurea, Metformin, Insulin, Digoxin, digestive enzyme products.
