INDICATIONS: Treatment of type 2 diabetes melllitus, second-line therapy when diet & exercise alone proves inadequate
CONTRA INDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity, type 1 diabetes, renal failure, dehydration, alcoholism
PRECAUTIONS: Lactic acidosis, hypoglycemia, renal impairment, pregnancy
SIDE EFFECTS: GI symptoms, metallic taste, pruritus, hypoglycemia, maculopapular rash
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Miconazole, alcohol, danazol, chlorpromazine, corticosteroids, beta blockers, diuretics, fluconazole, ACE inhibitors, desmopressin
